POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager, Registration and Switchboard, the principle role of the Office Services Coordinator is to ensure that the Patient Experience including but not limited to - all registration, switchboard (where applicable), reception, scheduling (where applicable) and business functions - operate in a professional, prompt, accurate and courteous manner.
Emphasis is on data quality and support to all hospital departments. Responsibilities include: lead role in site accounting functions including payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable (mix of duties may vary in each site); communication and interaction with hospital departments, patients, staff and business partners; general Business Office administration, staff scheduling, policy and procedure. The creation of, implementation, and participation in monthly planning and team meetings.
The Office Services Coordinator provides support and direction to the Registration Staff/Patient Services Agents in all areas of their position - acts as a resource person for all hospital departments. Acts as a liaison with the Manager for their respective hospitals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of a College Business Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of or current enrollment in Leadership Essentials/Advanced courses at Brightshores
- Interest and willing to pursue the development of LEAD competencies
- Significant experience in the coordination of hospital Business Office functions
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as well as provincial and national health reporting guidelines
- Knowledge of accounting programs
- Knowledge of and ability in the following competencies: customer service, communication, team work, initiative/self-management and accountability, and flexibility/adaptability/change management
- Computer skills, at the intermediate level; Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) – to be tested
- Demonstrated competencies in all Cerner products including but not limited to all Cerner PM applications, PM Office, ESM Scheduling, and First Net (to be tested; PM Office and ESM Scheduling testing and training is available through Learning Resources)
- Knowledge of medical terminology (to be tested)
- Typing 30 wpm (to be tested)
- Demonstrated competencies in Surgi Net, HRCM, and 3M
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance records
