The On Call Program Supervisor will be responsible for directly supervising staff on weekends in all program areas within CLH. Hours of work will include working alternate weekends and some regularly scheduled hours Monday to Friday. The On Call Supervisor will be required to respond to staff calls involving a variety of situations. Response may be by phone or require attendance at one of our Supported Living Home locations. Some calls may be of a serious nature therefore a proven ability to perform under stress is an asset.
Duties and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure that risk management systems are in place and monitors and promotes safe practices and conditions that ensure the safety of the people we support, volunteers and staff
- Participate in recruitment, hiring and training of all new staff as requested by HR and ensure all program staff are sufficiently trained to perform their duties
- Assist in the agency scheduling process
- Monitor and ensure the development and implementation of support action plans for all people we support and ensures they are regularly reviewed and updated to respond to changing needs
- Provide relevant data for annual budget preparation with Manager
- Attend all Supervisor Location meetings that pertain to their portfolio
- Maintain good rapport with families and guardians, encouraging family involvement where appropriate or requested.
- Provide mentoring, coaching, and performance evaluations as well as providing direction and supervision as required
- Supervises, monitors, evaluates, trains and delegates responsibilities to all employees within assigned programs
- Maintain agency / client confidentiality at all times
- Maintain liaison contact with all programs, community agencies, service providers and other professionals involved with the people we support
- Monitor staff hours, staff expenses and any additional expense lines to meet budget requirements.
- Represent CLH on any assigned committees or working groups
- Ensure staff compliance with purchasing policies and procedures.
- Ensure that policies and procedures are being followed, that goals and objectives are met
- Ensure that the Goal and Mission Statement of CLH are reflected in the program
- Ensure compliance to Quality Assurance Standards, MCSS, and Developmental Services Act, Collective Agreement, fire, building and any other legislative requirements
To be considered as a candidate, the successful applicant must have the following minimum qualifications and experience:
- Graduate of DSW Program or related educational background in Social Services, including Pharmacology.
- Minimum of 2 years supervising experience
- Demonstrated ability to supervise staff
- Excellent organization, communication and people skills
- Collaborative working style together with excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility in working hours to accommodate support requirements and respond to emergency situations including evenings and weekends
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a large group of staff, knowledge and capable in applying principles of coaching, mentoring and performance management effectively
- Proven ability to work in collaboration with other departments
- Ability to work in a computerized environment
- Commitment to self-directed planning process and philosophy
- Current valid G driver’s license and own reliable transportation to be used in the course of employment
