The Role:
As an Operations Manager, Food and Beverage department, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and optimizing the day-to-day operations of the Food and Beverage department within a hospitality or food service establishment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring efficient and effective processes, delivering high-quality customer service, and driving profitability, while putting your team members and customers at the center of everything that you do.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Team Leadership:
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of staff, including chefs, servers, bartenders, and support staff.
- Foster transparent communication within the team to build positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development.
- Hold regular team meetings to discuss goals, challenges, and successes. Ensure that each team member understands their contribution to the overall success of the operation.
- Encourage feedback and actively listen to team members.
- Organize regular team-building activities to strengthen interpersonal relationships. These activities can be both work-related (such as training sessions) and non-work-related (social events).
- Acknowledge and appreciate team members for their hard work and achievements.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team in both Food and Beverage services and rooms operations.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
- Address staffing needs and schedule staff to meet operational requirements.
2.Training and Development:
- Provide ongoing training to enhance skills and keep the team updated on industry trends.
- Create opportunities for cross-training to broaden skill sets.
3.Operational Efficiency:
- Develop and implement operational procedures to enhance efficiency and streamline workflow.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock while minimizing waste.
- Optimize supply chain management to control costs and maintain quality standards.
4.Guest Experience:
- Ensure a superior guest experience by maintaining high service standards and anticipating guest needs.
- Handle guest feedback and implement improvements based on suggestions and complaints.
- Implement and uphold the brand standards to enhance the overall guest experience.
5.Quality Control:
- Ensure consistency and high standards in Food and Beverage preparation and presentation.
- Conduct regular quality control inspections to uphold brand standards and meet regulatory requirements.
6.Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, with a focus on cost control and revenue growth.
- Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
7.Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and licensing requirements.
- Implement and enforce sanitation and hygiene practices to maintain a clean and safe environment.
8.Event Coordination:
- Coordinate and oversee special events, banquets, and catering activities.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote and maximize event opportunities.
9.Vendor Relations:
- Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and vendors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
10.Technology Integration:
- Stay updated on industry trends and implement relevant technologies to enhance operations.
- Utilize point-of-sale systems and other technology tools to streamline processes.
11.Rooms Operations:
The above-mentioned duties and responsibilities are exhaustive but not limited to the role for Operations Manager, Food and Beverage the duties and responsibilities under this role will evolve and change over time as per the business requirements, and the hired candidate will be involved in performing all the incidental job-related duties as requested by the hiring manager from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Food and Beverage management, with a track record of success.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of financial management and budgeting.
- Knowledge of industry regulations, health and safety standards, and licensing requirements.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make effective decisions under pressure.
Travel Requirements and work arrangements:
You will be required to work out our head office in Vaughn and travel regularly to property locations from time to time. All the travel expenses will be reimbursed by the company.
