Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the position is accountable for directing Hanover operations activities consistent with the corporate objectives for safety, cost, quality and performance. The incumbent is responsible for the overall management of both salaried and hourly colleagues and for adhering to safety and regulatory requirements for our Hanover.
This position will have daily onsite presence at our Hanover, Canada warehouse
Essential Functions
Ensure that objectives are met through effective leadership and utilization of all resources in production, maintenance, quality assurance, and warehousing.
Responsible for internal employee relations encompassing staffing, training, safety programs and employees’ motivation and morale. The position is also accountable for compliance with all Environmental legislation and the regulatory requirements related to Edgewell products sold in Canada.
Assist in the manufacturing/distribution budgets (expense and capital), establishing cost improvement and cost control programs and coordinate all programs with the U.S. logistics and operations group activities to ensure Canadian compliance with worldwide corporate standards for equipment, quality and product service.
Provide timely supply of Personal Care products to customers at a competitive cost while matching or exceeding product quality and performance of any competitor.
Be an advocate of change initiatives by following ADKAR principles.
Provide an environment that fosters continuous improvement through the implementation of sound management principals and employee motivation.
Model EPC values and behaviors and help embed them within the workplace.
Foster and maintain the coordination of Hanover functions and activities with EPC counterparts in the U.S. and other international locations.
Ensure that all employees have safe and healthy working environments.
Meet all regulatory specification guidelines as mandated.
Able to build collaborative and positive relationships across the organization both internal and external.
Environmental, Health and Safety Responsibilities
Work in compliance with Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Acts and Regulations.
Work safely as required, following environment, health and safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment, safety equipment/devices, and guarding and following safe work practices.
Immediately report workplace hazards or occupational injury/illness to a team leader/supervisor.
Report any missing or defective equipment or protective device that may be dangerous.
Report or raise any perceived workplace harassment, discrimination or violence concerns.
Actively participate in all health and safety initiatives and activities, including incident investigations, safety meetings and training.
Required Skills and Experience
University degree in relevant field with at least 5-7 years of proven experience at a managing high performing team.
Well versed in the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code, WSIB, Employment Standards Act, and any other relevant provincial legislation.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence the decision-making process while balancing strategic and financial factors and priorities.
Strategic, results oriented analytical thinker with strong problem solving and change management skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels both within and outside the organization.
Collaborative individual who thrives in a team-based environment.
Proficiency with various computer software programs.
Preferred Skills
MBA is an asset.
Working Relationships
Key relationships internally will include Operations, Supply Chain, Hanover Management Team, Finance, Human Resources, and NA Pack Ops team.
Work Environment
Some travel to U.S. may be required.
