St. Albert Public Schools is currently recruiting a Full-Time, Probationary, Administrative Assistant 5 for a work assignment in Outreach School .

Hours of Work: 35 hrs. /week; 7.0 hrs. /day; Monday-Friday; Full-Time Probationary
Hourly Rate: $23.78 per hour, as per the CUPE Collective Agreement
Start Date: As soon as possible

Specific Needs/Requirements for this position:
Knowledge of and experience with PowerSchool is imperative.
Experience with Acorn and Atrieve an asset.
Provides a positive and welcoming atmosphere for students, parents, colleagues, and visitors to the school is of utmost importance.
This position works directly with the school administration in support of the school’s financial operations and is the primary resource within the school for all financial related issues. In consultation with the principal, responsibilities include monitoring the School Budget, ensuring that it is in order, and that expenditures are accurately allocated and coded.
This position requires the employee to be self-motivated, accurate, detail oriented and embraces responsibility with very limited supervision.
Must be able to establish and maintain strong working relationships with teachers, students, parents and the community.
A high level of concentration is required in order to perform accurate recordkeeping. Work beyond normal office hours is required at the beginning and end of each school year and at various peak times throughout the year. Some time is spent away from the office throughout the year selecting and picking up merchandise from various suppliers.
Experience in a school setting an asset.
A high level of professionalism and confidentiality are required as the position involves dealing with parents and students who may be in vulnerable situations.
Preferred knowledge: Completion of Grade 12, supplemented with post-secondary accounting, secretarial courses with 5 years directly related office and accounting experience.
