Job Description: We are currently looking for a responsible and experienced shift supervisor to perform and lead the daily operations of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have supervisory experience, with the ability to effectively lead a team in a fast-paced environment. This supervisor role is also responsible for coaching, resolving issues and serving as a link between labour staff and upper management. This position requires the candidate to be available evenings and weekends. We are looking for a competent individual who will be able to guide and train employees. He/She will be well-versed in the roles requirements and will be results-driven and focused.
Primary responsibilities will be to supervise shop activity and a staff of 1-5 people, with set objectives and goals to achieve each shift. This is a working, team-oriented supervisor position.
Major Responsibilities:
- Ability to lead, train, coach and supervise a crew of 1-5 people
- Motivate staff to meet deadlines and team goals
- Ensure staff work to the processes and procedures relating to the warehouse operation
- Regular communication with shift staff on departmental and shift matters
- Unloading/loading of straight trucks
- Operation of processing machinery
- Fill out all required paperwork required
- Follow up with returning drivers
- All other duties as required
Job Requirements:
- Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience
- Valid G license
- Ability to handle strong odors (Organic Waste material)
- Able to lift 50lbs, push/pull up to 200lbs
- Excellent leadership qualities
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize tasks to meet deadlines
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
- Tracking of inventory levels
- Ability to adjust goals and targets in a fast-paced environment
- Optimize employee workflow
- Train, guide, and develop staff
- Passion and commitment to Health & Safety
- Mechanical abilities are an asset
- First Aid/CPR certified
- Forklift experience
- Working at Heights is considered and asset
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $21.00-$25.00 per hour
