· Must have the ability to be tactful, friendly and extremely patient when interacting with the client.
· Must be courteous and friendly to visitors and work in a co-operative manner with fellow workers.
· Must have the physical capabilities that are compatible with current physical demands analysis for this position.
· Must have the ability to be flexible, creative and willing to be involved in all aspects of the programs within Marianhill.
· Must have good written and verbal communication skills.
· Must be able to be organized and work independently, as well as in a team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· College diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or a related discipline (i.e. diploma in Social Services Worker or Gerontology) is required. A University Degree is considered an asset.
· Experience working with the elderly, particularly those with Alzheimer Disease or related dementia is required.
· Valid class G drivers’ license is required.
· Oral and written proficiency in English is required.
· Excellent attendance is essential.
Hours of Work: To be discussed
Rate of Pay: CUPE 2764 Collective Agreement, hourly $22.08-$22.80
