Part Time Caregiver (E24)

RAPS is Seeking a Part-Time Caregiver to Assist a Quadriplegic Individual (E24)

Location: Stony Plain

Days: Saturday 9am-2pm * Additional hours may be available.

Rate of Pay $21.00/ hour

Job Description: Provide evening care

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Transfers using a ceiling lift or Hoyer lift,
• Personal care assistance including: bathing, dressing, brushing hair/teeth, feeding assistance, etc.
• Medication administration
• Catheter care
• Bowel routine assistance including: suppositories, digital stimulation, etc.
• Providing transportation in an accessible minivan to and from errands/appointments
• Home care including: light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation
• Range of motion and physio therapy exercises
• Encouragement, support, and companionship

Qualifications and Other Requirements: Applicants must have a recent criminal record check (including a vulnerable sector check), a valid driver’s license, and the ability to drive an accessible minivan. Experience and/or education in the health care field is not required, but will be considered an asset. Applicants must be physically fit and able to push, pull or lift 50 lbs.

Ideal candidate will be cheerful, motivational, and willing to learn.
