DAYHOUSEKEEPER
ROLE
Reporting to the Assistant Lodge Manager, the Day Housekeeper is responsible for delivering a high standard of housekeeping services to the residents in the lodge.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Housekeeping experience in institution/hospitality industries.
2. Formal education in the area of housekeeping would be beneficial.
3. W.H.M.I.S. Training.
4. Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal is required.
5. Strong customer service skill including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner.
6. Ability to work independently, as well as a team.
7. Ability to work a flexible schedule (evenings and weekends).
8. Satisfactory Criminal Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Check.
9. Experience working with and meeting the needs of seniors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Clean resident rooms and common areas as per the cleaning schedule and assignment by the Assistant Manager.
2. Document & report to the Assistant Manager items or resident's behaviour that may pose potential danger (i.e. cigarette burns).
4. Work independently or as part of the staff team to ensure that a high quality of support services is provided to the residents.
5. Be pleasant and sincere in dealing with the elderly as well as staff members, to provide a warm, homelike atmosphere.
6. Keep an inventory of housekeeping supplies and equipment, and place orders for supplies with the Assistant Manager.
7. Keep a record of maintenance items reported to you and record them in the maintenance book.
8. Clean vacant units for occupancy.
9. When working the kitchen shift follow the Kitchen & Dining Room aide job duties.
10. Respond to resident emergencies as required.
11. Promote Health & Safety awareness:
- participate in all aspects of the Health & Safety Program.
- perform hazard assessments and use safe work practices.
- report any injury, near miss, unsafe condition or unsafe act to your supervisor immediately.
