Part Time IT Assistant - Contract
The Owen Sound Police Service has a requirement for a Part TimeIT Assistant. This is a Temporary contract position subject to annual renewal. Under the direction of their supervisor, this position will be responsible for ongoing support of network, servers, users and user related systems. This posting is open to all employees and the public.
To be considered for this position the applicant must;
· Be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada;
· Possess a minimum Grade 12 education or equivalent (completion of a network/systems administration diploma is an asset)
· Preferably have 2 or more years of experience in an IT role
· A valid G driver’s licence is required to complete tasks.
· Possess accurate and proficient computer and keyboarding skills
· Have the ability to recognize priorities and work within deadlines
· The ability to multi-task
· Be of good moral character and habits and have no criminal convictions for which a pardon has not been granted
· Excellent interpersonal and strong decision-making skills
Job Tasks include proficiency and confidence in the following items but are not limited to:
- Windows Server 2019/2022 Active Directory/File Share Systems with Windows 10/11 clients
- Maintaining asset control for IT items
- Knowledge if Microsoft 365 products including Power BI considered an asset
- Management of Knowledge Base repository
- Support of mobile devices using a Mobile Device Management system
- Linux operating systems
- Initial triage and resolution of calls. Escalation and assignment of calls to Subject Matter Experts within the OSPS
- Coordination with external contractors and/or service providers
- Configuration and verification of data backups
- Processing of alerts on networked systems
- Any other duties as assigned
Successful candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background check and skill testing.
Salary Range (2023) for this position is $71, 445.92 - $90,336.70, plus 4% pay in lieu of vacation
Estimated weekly hours are 30+ with the option of enrolling into a pension plan (OMERS).
