Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee counter sales operational requirements by scheduling employees, following up on work results, responding to changing workloads and establishing, monitoring, and managing operational goals.
  • Maintain counter staffing levels by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees to meet operational demands.
  • Support and lead counter staff including coaching, evaluating, continuous improvement and attendance.
  • Assist with selling parts to customers and build customer relationships by correctly identifying parts needed, taking orders, creating invoices, billing out freight, and collecting payment.
  • Oversee and manage warranty claims, returns, back orders, on hold invoices and ensure credits are issued to customers on confirmed warranty.
  • Coordinate with inventory team to add or delete product categories, product lines, SKUs, and stocking quantities for the branch and manage obsolete inventory.
  • Manage day-to-day business operations for the Parts Department to achieve optimal results in all financial performance categories.
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers, resolving customer complaints, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Complete paperwork, processing invoices, and performing other administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3+ years of working experience as a Parts Manager or a similar role in similar industry an asset combined with demonstrated sales and inventory experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in high volume customer service in retail, industrial, wholesale, automotive, or heavy-duty parts sales preferred.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills – dedicated to exceeding expectations of internal and external customers.
  • Excellent people management skills such as leadership, team development, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring, and supervisory skills
  • Basic to proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (email, word, excel) and ability to learn in-house systems.
  • Completion of a related post-secondary program and or training courses would be an asset.
  • A detailed understanding of Parts and Service operations and inventory management an asset
  • Parts technician journeyperson certificate an asset.
