Job description

Are you a certified Payroll Compliance Practitioner, with a minimum of 2 years of Canadian payroll experience? Adecco is currently seeking a full-time Payroll Coordinator to join a leading Canadian mining company in Sparwood, BC. In this role, you will be supervising and mentoring payroll clerks while offering crucial financial accounting and administrative support to the finance team. We are looking for an individual with experience in SAP/SuccessFactors, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality.

  • Pay Rate: $45/hour

  • Location: Sparwood, BC

  • Shifts: Monday to Friday | 40 hours/week

  • Job type: Full-time | temp Contract

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Champion safety and environmental rules and procedures

  • Analyze and prepare payroll data for trend analysis, including overtime and absenteeism

  • Act as a liaison between mine site, departments, and technology teams to gather, analyze, document, and deliver business requirements

  • Develop functional data reporting for payroll and accounting purposes

  • Supervise Payroll Clerk(s), implementing training and development plans and administering appraisals

  • Lead and assist with year-end preparation for annual T4 reporting, CRA tax changes, and annual benefit rate updates

  • Ensure company adherence to internal and external controls

  • Attend workshops and document business processes

  • Analyze reporting requirements and determine the need for standard or custom reports

  • Utilize DevOps for defect reporting and monitoring

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification

  • 2-4 years of Canadian payroll administration experience. 

  • Prior payroll experience in SAP/SuccessFactors is an asset.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook, along with experience in Payroll applications

  • Certified Public Accountant certification or working toward it is an asset

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

  • Exceptional attention to detail and a proven ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada
