Northland School Division is seeking a Payroll Officer to join our team in Peace River, Alberta.
Major responsibilities include:
- Ensures the gathering of all information needed to prepare, calculate and process the non-teaching runs using the Atrieve payroll system. Assists with teacher run as required.
- Updates all information to employee files on a regular basis to ensure
- accurate payments.
- Maintains a record of all staff leaves, both with or without pay, for Human Resources by applying Northland School Division policy and/or the Collective Agreement.
- Phones the Principal/Secretary for payroll-related information on new employees to ensure prompt pay cheque delivery.
- Processes benefit information for qualified employees in a timely fashion using benefit electronic data interchange.
- Maintains a high level of confidentiality, demonstrating tact and diplomacy.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Canadian Payroll Association Certificate, business education and/or related experience.
- Experience with using Microsoft Office programs such as Excel as Word.
- Experience with Atrieve payroll is considered an asset.
We offer a very attractive compensation package including a salary range of $46,536 - $79,725 (dependent on experience), and a 35 hour work week. The compensation package benefit package includes a defined benefit package program (LAPP).
