We are currently looking for a People & Culture Associateto join our team

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting all departments with recruitment initiatives (job postings, interviews, hiring, onboarding) including assisting with recruitment related to the foreign worker programs.
  • Oversee and monitor the Health and Safety Program, including scheduling and tracking all training and JHSC (Joint Health & Safety Committee) activities and ensure that all requirements are met.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance and related employee training is up to date and maintain company Health & Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Assist managers with the WSIB claim management process.
  • Identify training needs for both legal compliance and internal policy compliance
  • Maintain and enforce Employment Standards Act Legislation and assist with the development and execution of company HR policies and procedures.
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding and new hire orientation.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and updating employee records and files.
  • Track and maintain petty cash and provide hands on support to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments when needed
  • Provide administrative and customer support in general office duties including liaising with external office services providers and assisting walk in customers.
  • Providing administrative support to managers as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with team members at all levels of the company while working to boost morale and assist in the organization of company social events.

Additional tasks may include:

  • Stay ahead on emerging trends and best practices in the HR field and ensure we are constantly seeking continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will have a thorough knowledge of human resources principles and practices and will have minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a junior HR role with experience in the preparation of payroll. A valid Ontario G class license is required and the ability and willingness to travel between various locations for site visits and training. Given the seasonal nature of our operations, farming knowledge or experience in the agricultural industry is an asset. However, we are open to training individuals who demonstrate an exemplary attitude, enthusiasm for learning, and a desire to contribute to our organization and positive corporate culture.
