Talent and Culture Associate

The Talent and Culture Associate is responsible for supporting employees and leaders in the areas of recruitment, onboarding, employee relations,  engagement initiatives and reporting.

What you will do:

  • Support recruitment, onboarding and offboarding processes including:

    • Set up job opportunities in Workday.

    • Work with assigned hiring manager on recruitment process activities including applicant tracking, pre-screening, background checks and offer letter preparation.

    • Address onboarding related inquiries from new employees.

    • Liaise with internal departments to complete onboarding process such as IT set up notification, directory updates, Learning Portal access, email distribution lists, etc.

    • Develop and maintain preferred external recruiting agencies list.

  • Act as first level point of contact for employees regarding employment related matters; redirecting questions as appropriate.

  • Provide first level counsel to leaders in managing performance and assist with progressive counselling, action plans and documentation.

  • Manage the HR section of Employee Portal to ensure information is up to date and relevant.

  • Support Talent and Culture team in the preparation of documentation related to employee matters.

  • Act as point of contact regarding all Workday system changes/updates related to reporting structure, titles, cost centers, etc., maintaining the highest level of data integrity, timeliness and confidentiality.

  • Assist in updating and maintaining job descriptions for all roles within the organization, requesting information and materials as required.

  • Manage PPI’s anniversary program including monthly portal announcements, manager notifications, employee inquiries.

  • Consistently exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information and all matters of confidentiality.

You have outstanding organizational skills with the ability to exercise flexibility in balancing changing priorities, managing deadlines and working to tight schedules while maintaining excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

What we are looking for:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Human Resources role

  • University education and specialization in Human Resources preferred

  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook in particular; previous experience with Workday preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Previous experience in an insurance and/or financial services environment preferred

  • Bilingualism (English/French) an asset due to frequent interactions with English and French speaking colleagues, internal partners and clients across Canada
