ROLE OVERVIEW
As the initial point of contact for employees, the People & Culture Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing an exceptional employee experience. The People & Culture Coordinator will assist in various aspects of the human resources department, including onboarding/off-boarding, orientation, employee engagement, employee recognition, payroll, and health and safety.
YOU WILL:
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
- Prepare and distribute internal employee communications.
- Coordinate employee recognition programs.
- Coordinate employee events
TALENT ACQUISITION
- Support the recruitment/hiring process by sourcing candidates and assisting in shortlisting.
- Preparing employment agreements, performing background checks, credentialing, etc.
ONBOARDING AND ORIENTATION
- Facilitate employee orientation and coordinate the first day in the clinic/department.
- Coordinate and monitor employee compliance training.
- Coordinate benefits enrollment and education.
COMPLIANCE AND EMPLOYEE RECORDS
- Coordinate and monitor the Health and Safety programs and comply with internal policies, legislation, regulations, and due diligence requirements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, employment contracts, policies, and conduct regular audits.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with internal policies and the rules under the collective bargaining agreement.
PAYROLL
- Work closely with department heads on reviewing employees' time and attendance records to ensure accurate payroll administration.
- Process bi-weekly payroll and provide reporting.
- Maintain all employee time-off records and balances.
- Prepare records of employment and employment letters as required.
- Complete year-end processes, including annual reporting and audits.
GENERAL ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS
- Support the day-to-day operations of the People & Culture department by performing various administrative duties.
- Maintain and update company policies and procedures and ensure employee acknowledgement compliance.
- Prepare various employment-related letters.
- Prepare and maintain employee job descriptions.
YOU HAVE:
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Payroll experience is an asset.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- The ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
