Pharmacy Assistant

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing exceptional customer service to patients both in person and over the phone.
• Performing inventory management functions such as ordering pharmacy inventory, maintaining appropriate stock levels, and identifying expired products for disposal, destruction, or return to manufacturer.
• Ensuring organization and cleanliness of workstations, inventory shelves, and storage area.
• Entering and managing patient profiles, maintaining current and accurate details.
• Processing and submitting insurance claims, and other pharmacy services to the insurer and resolve payment or coverage issues with payers, including insurance companies, patient support programs, and patients.
• Performing the technical aspects of medication dispensing, including receiving the prescription from the patient, and processing and filling the prescription efficiently and accurately.
• Preparing blister packages for patients, and check blister packs prepared by other staff.
• Potentially ordering and billing incontinence supplies on AADL program.
• Potentially ordering and receiving of OTC products, stocking, cleaning, and pulling outdates.

We are ideally seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

• Training from a Pharmacy Assistant program or previous Pharmacy experience
• Ability to handle multiple demands and make informed, sound decisions.
• Ability to communicate verbally and written and perform effectively in stressful and busy situations both independently and with others.
• Strong ability to build and maintain trust and work with confidential information.
