Department: Planning/Scheduling Area

Overview:
Pembina Pipeline Corporation is recruiting for a Planner/Scheduler to join the Planning and Scheduling team, positioned in the city limits of Fort McMurray, supporting the Oilsands Business Unit (OBU) assets surrounding Fort McMurray.  This position reports to the Supervisor, Planning/Scheduling in the Oilsands Business Unit (OBU), part of Pembina’s Pipelines Division. 
Pembina is one of Canada's largest oil sands and heavy oil pipeline operators and the business unit operates one of the largest merchant terminal businesses in western Canada. These combined assets allow us to provide long-term, dedicated transportation services to our customers. 
The Planner/Scheduler is responsible to complete planning, coordinating, and scheduling of operations work tasks for pipeline and equipment maintenance activities. This includes liaising between control center operations, district supervision and field personnel for planned and reactive maintenance activities.
 
Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
Planning Responsibilities:
-Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina/safety;
-Review approved work notifications daily in assigned areas of responsibility;
-Lead Weekly Planning Meetings as required;
-Perform detailed job planning on corrective work as well as improvements in Preventive Maintenance (PM); 
-Perform on-site walkdowns for complex tasks and outage planning requirements;
-Collaborate with project teams and internal stakeholders to identify outage/availability impacts and integrate workloads into Workorder Management System;
-Review the daily failure report/operations log to identify recurring trends and potential improvement plans;
-Assist with the development of new maintenance plans/items in the SAP environment;
-Adjust existing plans/items as needed, in line with optimization and efficiency initiatives;
-Provide input on how equipment is maintained and operated in accordance with procedure or manufacturer recommendations;
-Support the development and implementation of asset management and reliability strategies and initiatives;
-Work with leadership personnel to identify opportunities for improvement and leverage industry best practices;
-Assist with Management of Change (MOC) identification in accordance with Pembina’s MOC policy and provide support for MOC processes when required;
-Assist with the development of operational procedures for maintenance activities, including equipment shut down, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and risk assessments;
-Assist Operations & Maintenance with LOTO development for non-routine maintenance activities, including cars seals, deviations, and bypass plans; and
-Assist with the identification and correction of deficiencies in procedures, and adhere to document control processes.
 
Additional Responsibilities
Scheduling Responsibilities :
-Lead and collaborate with leadership personnel in assigned areas to develop work schedules for operational staff and internal stakeholders;
-Manage and review work order backlogs to identify opportunities for integration into the scheduling process;
-Assist with and identify outage/availability impacts to operations, and schedule accordingly to manage these impacts;
-Lead scheduling meetings;
-Communicate the maintenance schedule and progress to both the operations team and control center operations;
-Review the daily failure report/operations log to identify break-in work that may affect the current schedule; and
-Working with Planning team to draft and develop 52-week maintenance schedules for long-range planning and scheduling forecasts.
 
Overarching Responsibilities:
-Establish and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders;
-Understand corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and their impacts to the business;
-Remain up to date with KPI trends and areas of improvement;
-Be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and business requirements within your scope, as needed; and
-Flexibility to take on others work and provide coverage within your scope, as needed; and
-Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
 
Qualifications:
-8+ years of related progressive experience in operations and maintenance;
-A proven ability to work effectively as part of a team in complex operational environments;
-Experience with SAP (Plant Maintenance) is considered an asset;
-Technical procedure writing experience is considered an asset;
-Excellent communication and organization skills;
-Journeyperson Trades certificate is considered an asset.
-CMRP and/or MMP certification is considered an asset; and
-Valid Driver’s License (subject to Driver’s record check) as Company provided vehicle for work purpose/travel will be included.
 
Additional Information:
-Office Based position, No Camp Requirements;
-Shift 5-2 - Monday – Friday - day shift only (overtime exempt);
-Monday and Friday (flexible to work from home/travel)
-Tuesday – Thursday core office hours.
-Stat Holidays Off
-DDO schedule eligible (12 days per year – 9 defined w/ 3 flex);
-Vacation Day Quota (based on industry practice/experience); and 
-A Competitive Benefit/Compensation package including defined contribution pension eligibility.
 
This position is considered “Safety Sensitive” and so will require Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Testing.  You may also be required to provide a Driver’s Abstract. The successful candidate must live within 100 km of Fort McMurray, AB.
The successful candidate must be legally able to work in the country of the position. Final candidate will be required to undergo Pre-Employment Background Checks including a Criminal Record Check.
