Overview:
We are seeking a Plant Technician for an indoor grow facility based on Vancouver Island, BC. The Plant Technician will report to the Master Grower and designated management as required and will work alongside and assist the plant production team. The Plant Technician will be responsible for sanitation and light maintenance activities from time to time.
Responsibilities:
- Familiar with the Cannabis Act and Regulations supporting the Cannabis Act
- Must adhere to site Standard Operating Procedures
- Participate in plant production activities and maintenance including pruning, defoliating, plant training and trellising, plant transfer and transplants, cloning, regular pest scouting and plant health inspections
- Perform harvesting and pre and post-harvest activities such as pre-harvest defoliation's and prep, harvesting plants, weighing and hanging, assisting with trim events and bulk packaging of trimmed cannabis
- Assist with destruction of cannabis waste
- Maintain sanitation protocols and facility bio-security process, including maintenance of sanitation equipment and other maintenance requirements
- Clean and sterilize all equipment and grow/production/common areas
- Perform regular inspections to ensure production equipment is clean prior to being used
- Document all tasks, completed and incomplete
- Assist with plant and production inventory counts as required
- Assist in monitoring the building automation system
- Assist in monitoring nutrient levels and mixing fertilizer as required
- Communicate inventory levels of supplies, plant resources and sanitation products, deviations and plant health issues to the Master Grower or designated management
- Perform maintenance of portable and building equipment
- Other duties may be required from time to time
- Report any concerns to the Master Grower or designated management
- Conduct work activities in a safe manner
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and efficiency
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a technical role preferred
- Understanding of documentation and record keeping procedures
- Ability to stay focused and complete redundant and routine tasks
- Able to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Basic computer skills
- Able to lift and pull 50 lbs
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Must be able to undergo a criminal record check
