Job description

About the role:

As part of our energetic and talented Customer Care team, you will oversee and facilitate engagement activities, the impact speaker program, Sponsored Campaign Representative (SCR) training, workplace campaign volunteer orientation, and the Day of Caring volunteer experiences at our Inkind Exchange. This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with various community and stakeholder groups to increase awareness and engagement to achieve our purpose of leaving no one behind. This position reports to the Director, Customer and Engagement Experiences.

  • Responsible for the recruitment, training, and coordination of the Community Impact Speakers program and the oversight of the speaker booking process and temporary staff.
  • Manages and facilitates all aspects for the delivery of engagement products year-round including but not limited to Poverty Simulations, The Brain Architecture Game, falling through the Cracks, Make the Month, The KAIROS Blanket Exercise, Natural Supports and new products as they are developed.
  • Working collaboratively develops SCR training curriculum including planning sessions, developing agendas, and training material, scheduling and organizing staff and volunteer trainers, preparing session materials, and facilitating the sessions.
  • Responsible for Campaign Volunteer Training including developing and facilitating all elements of campaign volunteer training (ECC, Ambassadors, Sharing Cafes). This involves agenda creation, content development, material development and facilitation of sessions, group presentations/meetings, online learning, etc.
  • Conducts research and ongoing professional development related to social challenges in the Alberta Capital Region. Develops and maintains a deep understanding of community issues and our investment strategies to ensure no one is left behind and leverages this knowledge to enhance engagement experiences.
  • Keeps apprised of adult training best practices and current facilitations methods.
  • Facilitates United Way program volunteer activities for InKind Exchange engagement programs.

About you:

You are eager to apply your exceptional facilitation and relational building expertise to this role, and provide opportunities that capture the hearts and minds of our volunteers. You have a can-do attitude, are outcomes driven, and approach situations with empathy and collaboration. Thinking creatively, staying organized, and connecting with people is how you thrive. You are comfortable operating in a digital environment and are proficient with MS Office (we use Office 365 – MS Teams, SharePoint), and enjoy learning and using new technology.

You have a post-secondary diploma or degree in Adult Education and Facilitation, Social Sciences, Humanities, or related field plus a minimum of three (2) to five (4) years of related experience and a minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of supervisory experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

A valid driver’s license and vehicle are required as travel will be involved within Edmonton and surrounding area.
