As a Capital Portfolio Lead, you will be responsible for the execution and delivery of Capital programs and projects within Corporate Security's Project Management Office (PMO), and work with the other Capital Portfolio Lead in managing Corporate Security's capital budget for those projects and programs. Primary duties include:

  • Manage a portfolio of Corporate Security projects and programs.
  • Provide sponsors and Project Managers with the capabilities needed to manage the time, resources, skills, and budgets necessary to accomplish project deliverables and tasks.
  • Perform recruitment activities of contract project resources, including onboarding and training, performance management, and offboarding.
  • Conduct analyses of assigned programs and assist Corporate Security teams in strategic planning for multi-year Infrastructure Investment Plan initiatives.
  • Coordinate resources and ensure project resources are on track with timely submission of project documentation and status reports to leadership.
  • Liaise between Project Managers, project sponsors and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure projects and programs are on track.
  • Assist with portfolio change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in the development and delivery of engagement and communication plans with respect to assigned programs and projects to ensure key messages are provided to necessary Corporate Security business partners in a timely and appropriate fashion. 
 
Qualifications 
  • A completed 2 year Diploma in Business, Social Science, or related discipline and at least 10 years of related experience; OR
  • A Degree in in Business, Social Science, or related discipline and at least 8 years of related experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience must include business planning and budgeting, business process projects (project management), managing resources, relationship building/collaborating with partners and coordinating the implementation of projects/capital projects.
  • A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation, or working toward one, will be considered an asset.
  • Experience working with PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Chain Management (FSCM) and working knowledge of The City's finance processes and practices will also be considered assets.
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills accompanied by strong relationship building skills.
  • You have demonstrated problem solving and decision-making abilities and influencing to bring about change.
 
Pre-employment Requirements 
  • A security clearance will be conducted. 
  • Successful applicants must provide proof of qualifications.

Compensation: Level E $83,059 - 125,413 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
