Hensall Co-op is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven sales and service-oriented individual to lead and manage the Poultry sales and service team. You will be responsible for driving profitable growth, fostering customer relationships, and implementing initiatives to help drive success while ensuring high-quality customer service. This position will work out of the Clinton Feed Mill location.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide effective, strategic leadership for the Animal Nutrition Poultry sales team.
- Develop short and long-term goals and objectives and advance action plans to achieve business targets.
- Work with Feed Nutritionist to develop animal nutrition plans based on customer needs.
- Conduct meetings with sales team to communicate strategic initiatives, solicit feedback, and create action plans aimed at exceeding sales objectives.
- Maintain regular contact with customers and prospects to ensure customer satisfaction and capitalize on opportunities.
- Drive sales by analyzing agricultural data and making farm visits to customers to identify needs and provide solutions/recommendations as required.
- Establish and maintain industry contacts with distributors and suppliers that will lead to future sales opportunities.
- Host producer training and production meetings as required to keep livestock producers up to date with any technical information.
- Maintain and assess present and future market and industry activities and market activities and trends.
Job Requirements:
- Strong team leadership, communication, and mentoring capabilities.
- Excellent customer service, time management, and interpersonal skills.
- Technical knowledge in livestock feed, nutrition, and new technologies.
- Strategic selling and negotiation skills.
- Experience with grain purchasing and producer grain bank platforms would be considered an asset for this role.
Required Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in an agricultural business-related program.
- 5+ years of experience in an agricultural sales position.
