Our customers operate mission critical 24x7 processes which rely on ABB support from installation and initial start-up, through to life-cycle services to maximize the availability of the solutions provided by ABB and optimize their operations.Located near Vancouver, reporting to the Service Manager, this is an Intern position with the Automation Service group.

Your responsibilities

  • Help field service with resolving customers technical issues as they arise.
  • Assist with producing technical drawings and documentation for projects.
  • Provide support for customer Factory Acceptance Testing in office.
  • Setup demonstration or lab equipment, hardware, and software.
  • Possible travel to customer sites and working under the direction of Field Service Engineer perform field service tasks.

Your background

  • Enrolled in bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical collage with focus on Computer Science, electrical, chemical or Process Automation.
  • Some knowledge of DCS/PLC would be an advantage.
  • Some Knowledge with Microsoft operating systems, and networking setup.
  • Strong technical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to relate well to customers.
  • Good communication skills and speak effectively with customers.
  • Health, Safety & Environment focus.
