Position Summary:
Reporting to the Special Order Supervisor the Procurement Coordinator plays an integral role in the execution of the procurement, inventory management and sourcing strategies. The Procurement Coordinator also plays an active role in process and system improvement.
Key Accountabilities:
- Perform PO creation / PO management, remedy invoicing discrepancies and coordinate time-sensitive purchase order creation and delivery between vendors, sales team, UFA distribution and stores.
- Work directly with internal business partners and suppliers to fill requests and requirements in a timely fashion
- Support internal business partners in determining supplier strategy and savings opportunities
- Update supplier costs, including freight and article details.
- Support and Cross-Training related to other areas within Procurement and Supply Chain.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Working towards a Bachelor’s degree or diploma, preferably in a business-related field and/or a combination of education and experience.
- Working toward a supply chain management certification or professional purchasing designation (CIPS, SCMP) is an asset.
- 2 - 5 years’ supply chain experience or dedicated post-secondary education in supply chain.
- Agricultural background is an asset.
- Preference given to those who can demonstrate a strong knowledge of agriculture.
- Ability to form strong team-based relationships with internal customers.
- Effective negotiation, facilitation and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge of Microsoft D365 considered an asset.
