Hendriks Greenhouses is currently recruiting a Product Development Manager to support our sales and marketing team. This individual will be responsible for developing new products and improving existing products in order to meet the needs of a broad range of customers. This will be achieved by combining design, business and communication skills to create products that meet both market and production requirements. This position will also assist in setup for internal and external meetings/shows and tradeshows. The successful candidate will be a high energy creative team player and be willing to learn Hendriks product details to support the overall sales process.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Development of new products and accessories to meet customer needs, from conceptualization to the finished product launch.
- Conducting market research, supported by on-going visits to customers and potential customers.
- Collaborating with the Director of Sales and Marketing in establishing and recommending sales goals for the company and developing strategies to improve market share.
- Identifying customer needs, emerging market trends and the competitive landscape.
- Working closely with the marketing coordinator to ensure all products are production friendly and priced accordingly.
- Effectively manage and develop staff.
Skills Required:
- Degree in a related field.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Creative thinker with the ability to generate unique ideas and concepts.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite – Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Some industry knowledge is an asset.
