Production Application Support Specialist

Must Have Knowledge/skill requirements:
· Strong knowledge of Unix or Linux and Windows is a must have skill
· Solid problem solving skills
· Strong knowledge of Unix infrastructure
· General knowledge of Hadoop and Big Data concepts is a must have skill
· Understand Shell Scripting / Automation, Jenkins, Artifactory
· Familiar with Azure, SQL databases, Oracle databases, Autosys, Microservices and related concepts
· Familiar with Agile and DevOps
· Strong knowledge of the activities, tasks, practices,deliverables and techniques for implementing new or enhanced applications into a production environment
· You have experience defining, implementing changes to, and supporting a Production Application
· Strong written and oral communication skills. Able to produce clear written documentation
· Knowledge of features and facilities for integration and communication among applications, data bases and technology platforms
· Must have a degree/diploma inComputer Science, and/or a related field
· Prior experience working at a Canadian financial institution is a strong asset
What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for providing extensive technical and operational expertise to facilitate, support and enhance service delivery for the development of processes and support of applications.
Provide subject matter expertise on specific existing technologies. Manage the ongoing vitality of the technology throughout its lifecycle.
Technical Troubleshooting, Production Control and Problem Solving ; you have the knowledge and experience anticipating, recognizing, and resolving technical (hardware, software, application or operational) problems, service requests and incidents
Managing multiple priorities using effective judgment in prioritizing and time allocation while understanding the IT Environment.
Provide business and technical support and provide updates on timely manner to business stakeholders
Develops, documents and standardize preventative maintenance routines to ensure system availability
Implement changes required based on the proper procedures
Responsible for responding to client requests, inquiries and escalations
Fulltime and Contract opportunities available

Salary: $45.00-$60.00 per hour
