POSITON TITLE: Production Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction and support of the production manager, responsible for the preparation and day-to-day implementation of the weekly production schedule and coordination between all departments, the movement of job orders and materials. Oversee the activities of the electrical, machine shop and shipping department employees, and ensure that production delivery requirements and production quality are maintained.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervision of electrical, machine shop and shipping department employees ie: performance reviews, absenteeism, vacation requests etc.
- Assign day-to-day duties to workers and lead hands based on production schedule
- Monitor workload making recommendations for personnel actions such as hiring, layoffs, promotions, transfers and disciplinary action
- Coordinate activities as required between other departments (e.g. sales, engineering, etc) to ensure shipments remain on schedule
- Attend production meetings and maintain and distribute shipment list. Report on status of monthly shipment plan
- Create bills of material and routings for non-standard items and repairs
- Adhere to collective agreement for production department
- Provide delivery dates for quotations and sales order entry.
- Create job orders from newly entered sales orders. Release required jobs in M2M (i.e. manufacturing software). Forward calibration orders to calibration lab and repair evaluation orders to Technical Services. Make changes to job orders as necessary. Check material availability on job orders to be released and request Purchasing to issue required Purchase Orders to suppliers
- Run synchronizer planning/scheduling
- Create and maintain routings in M2M, create and maintain forecast in M2M based on sales order received and forecast
- Write required procedures/training plan documentation for production employees
- Assist production employees with completing jobs as required
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Community College Diploma
TRAINING:
- Several years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in electronics manufacturing
- Strong understanding of electronic manufacturing processes, including soldering, assembly, testing, and quality control
- Experience in a supervisory or leadership role is desired

Salary: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
