PROGRAM & EVENTS COORDINATOR

PERMANENT FULL-TIME

The Municipality of Mississippi Mills is located a short drive west of the Nations Capital and is comprised of the quaint villages of Pakenham, Blakeney, Appleton, Clayton, the Township of Ramsay and the friendly Town of Almonte. We are currently seeking a Program & Events Coordinator to join our team. This position dually reports to the Manager of Community & Economic Development and the Manager of Recreation. The Program and Events Coordinator will be responsible for organizing, executing, and supporting recreational and cultural activities for a range of demographics to support mental and physical health, wellness, culture, and social enjoyment. The coordinator will develop special events and recreational programs for the Municipality, promoting community engagement and tourism, contributing to its economic development.

This position is permanent full-time $56,465.85 to $69,410.96 annually (37.5 hrs per week)

The ideal candidate will have:

* Ontario Secondary School Diploma; post-secondary diploma in Recreation, Business Administration, Marketing or other related field.

* A minimum of one- three years’ experience in the planning and delivery of recreation and cultural programming, preferably in a municipal setting

* Must have a sound working knowledge of computers, particularly with MS Word and Professional Office Suite; as well as familiarity with digital technologies (e.g. digital marketing, social media, etc.).

* Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills

* Demonstrated experience in creating professional promotional materials.

* Previous experience in working with and organizing volunteer groups would be preferred.

* Pleasant, efficient manner dealing with public, both in person and on the phone.

* Possess a valid Ontario Class “G” drivers’ license

* Demonstrate flexibility and organizational skills, with ability to multi-task, to meet established deadlines in a dynamic work environment
