Job description

Tim Hortons Foundation Camps help youth from underserved communities achieve their full potential through multi-day, overnight camp experiences. Whether at camp or back home in their communities between visits—our youth work to build social, emotional, leadership and innovation skills and behaviours like volunteerism and motivation to learn so they become civically and academically engaged, and successfully transition to adulthood.

Contract: April 2024 – August 2024

Location:

This position will be based out of our Home Office located on-site of Tim Horton Onondaga Farms. A remote work agreement may also be arranged.

Summary:

This role reports into the Director, Program Innovation (PI). This role will support the PI team by developing and launching summer camper outcome surveys, reviewing and managing quantitative, qualitative, and program quality data, and executing research projects. Additionally, this role will complete a variety of administrative tasks to benefit the overall function of the PI and camp program teams. This role is a temporary position intended to support the seasonal needs of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop camper surveys in FormAssembly, create email templates through Salesforce, and email surveys to participants. Send reminders as needed.
  • Review and manage quantitative, qualitative, and program quality data. This includes camper survey responses, camper story bank, creative youth program quality data, and program quality assessments.
    • Review with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
  • With support from Director, PI, execute research projects from initial development to completion.
    • Brainstorm project ideas. Select and plan project, including practical implications.
    • Develop and execute methods (if new project) and analysis procedure.
    • Complete analysis, report on results, and determine implications for camp practitioners.
    • Communicate findings in written, verbal, and creative forms. Develop continuous improvement plans for the organization based on project findings.
  • Support with other tasks, as necessary.

Does this sound like you?

  • Recently completed or, currently pursuing post-secondary education in the field of education, psychology, youth development, recreation/leisure or, equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of youth development principles.
  • Experience participating or working in camp, after-school or out-of-school-time programs.
  • Strong skills related to MS Office: Power Point, Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail in managing work and competing deadlines.
  • Good oral and written communication skills (English).
  • Bilingual in French/English considered an asset.
  • Experience providing exemplary customer service and maintaining confidentiality.
  • Resourceful team player with an ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to submit an acceptable Criminal Record Search.
