About the Role: This is a unionized position that assists with planning, coordinating, and delivering of recreation programming and special events for the Parks and Recreation Department. This positions assist with general recreation programs, including but not limited to spontaneous use, drop-in activities, day camps, Southern Alberta Summer Games and special events.
Pay: $20.15/hr to $23.22/hr - Temporary Casual hours
The Ideal Candidate:
- Responsible for ensuring the quality delivery of recreation program outcomes.
- Ensuring patron safety and providing excellent customer service during the delivery of recreation programs.
- Ensure that all appropriate communication systems are followed to share information accurately, professionally, clearly, concisely, and in a timely fashion.
- Assist with organizing, planning, and delivering recreation programming.
- Communicate effectively with community groups and organizations in the delivery of recreation programs.
- Must possess advanced interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with various internal co-workers, external service providers, volunteers, and program stakeholders.
- Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to react positively to demands and unexpected changes in work priorities.
- Provide exceptional customer service and project a positive image of self and the organization with internal and external contacts.
Qualifications
- Successful completion of Grade 12 or high school equivalency diploma.
- Six (6) months of general experience in Parks and Recreation programming or a related field.
- Must be of minimum age (18).
- Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 Driver's License, with an acceptable driving record.
- An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
- Preference will be given to candidates with current CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate C.
