Participating First Nations:
The North Shore Mi'kmaq Tribal Council (NSMTC) is a tribal council located in Eel Ground (Natoaganeg), New Brunswick. NSMTC is comprised of seven member Mi'kmaq First Nation Communities and provides programs and services to our member communities of Ugpi'ganjig (Eel River Bar), Oinpegitjoig (Pabineau), Natoaganeg (Eel Ground), Metepenagiag (Red Bank), L'nui Menikuk (Indian Island), Tjipogtotjg (Bouctouche), and Amlamgog (Fort Folly). This opportunity may include the communities of Lennox Island and Abegweit.
Scope of Position:
The IELCC QIP is focused on defining high-quality Indigenous ELCC. This includes designing, testing, and supporting governance models and culturally appropriate education and training for IELCC staff. The known issues include the shortage of IELCE in communities, barriers to entry, high staff turnover rates, and lack of funding for professional development.
