Summary:
Join our dynamic team and take a lead role in managing various projects, executing capital projects, and upholding Aquatera's project delivery, design, and construction standards. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise, project management mentorship, and ensuring successful project outcomes.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities include the following:
- Lead the preparation of designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents for municipal infrastructure projects;
- Advance projects through concept, design, construction, and close-out phases;
- Deliver well-scoped, high-quality projects safely, on budget, and on schedule;
- Ensure compliance with technical, regulatory, commercial, and contractual requirements;
- Provide oversight of planning and implementation, including coordinating with construction and commissioning teams;
- Conduct regular project reviews, ensuring compliance with the capital projects process;
- Mentor the Engineering Services Team in technical and project management aspects;
- Foster a collaborative work environment with internal teams and departments;
- Conduct routine safety inspections on all projects;
- Participate in the capital planning process and contribute to project budget development.
The Successful candidate will provide capital projects support for remote sites as required.
Qualifications:
- Legally entitled to work in Canada;
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institute or diploma in Engineering Technology from an accredited technical institute. Equivalent experience will be considered;
- Registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer with APEGA or certified technologist with ASET with a P. Licensee status preferred;
- 10+ years of progressive project management experience preferred;
- Strong understanding of project lifecycles;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills;
- Strong technical writing skills;
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and MS Project;
- Committed team player with decision-making ability in complex situations;
- Ability to make decisions on a variety of levels of complexity, ambiguity and risk;
- Organizational and time management skills;
- Aligned with Aquatera's core values;
- Valid Class 5 driver's license.

- Experience leading teams providing contract administration services for construction projects including full-time site resident engineer services;
- Can define tasks and milestones to achieve objectives;
- Can prevent, manage, and resolve conflicts with consultants and contractors;
- Questions conventional approaches, explores alternatives and provides innovative solutions;
- Leadership and organizational skills with the ability to influence others effectively.
As conditions of employment the following will be required:
- Provision of a valid Canadian Driver's license (minimum class 5);
- Provision of a Driver's abstract satisfactory to the Employer;
- Provision of proof of membership with APEGA or ASET if applicable;
- Satisfactory completion of a drug and alcohol test.
