Job description

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our growing team and to help build out the next generation of our products as we continually improve all components of our platform, from our proprietary imaging systems to AI-enabled emissions alerts, to our robust cloud architecture and dashboards. While much of Kuva’s growth is commercial, there is a significant opportunity to further our product through government grants. This role is to plan and execute projects that are both commercial and grant related and involve various stakeholders throughout the process.

This is a remote position with occasional travel to the Calgary office and potentially to the Kuva offices in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Build, review and commit project work plans and timelines
  • Track and report on grant activities against milestones, including application status, funding received, progress, labor, expenses and impact metrics.
  • Engage with project partners external to Kuva to ensure objectives and work plans are executed as intended
  • Ensure grant projects and internal projects are completed on-time and on-budget
  • Collaborate with internal departments to delegate work with clearly identifiable timelines, milestones and deliverables
  • Gather results, write and submit technical reports at various stages of project completion in order to close out milestones and final project
  • Potential to manage non-grant related product development projects

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Math or Science.
  • PMP certified or in progress of obtaining
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing Technical Projects within a multidisciplinary team. Sensor-related or cloud-connected product development experience is an asset.
  • Experience managing long duration field work would be considered valuable
  • Experience in Technical Project writing is required, preferably with hardware-enabled technology.
  • Familiarity with grant reporting processes and requirements in the United States and Canada. Specific experience with Canadian IRAP, SR&ED, Emissions Reduction Alberta, as well as US grants.gov and Fed Connect programs would be considered an asset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and manage their inter-dependencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Google Workspace tools and project management software such as Wrike/Smartsheet/Asana/Other required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Must be able to take initiative, multi-task and manage competing priorities.
  • Must be flexible, punctual and adaptable to change.
