Why you’ll love Softchoice:
We are a software-focused IT solutions and services provider that equips organizations to be agile and innovative, and for their people to be engaged, connected, and creative at work. That means moving them to the cloud, helping them build the workplace of tomorrow, and enabling them to make smarter decisions about their technology. By doing these things we help them create success for their customers and their people.

We stand proudly for our people and support their success through career development and advancement. We are recognized and respected for our culture of inclusion and belonging, continuously striving to do what’s good for our people and communities.

The impact you will have:

As an experienced Proposal Writer, you will work with subject matter experts from various teams, gathering information and using your technical aptitude to produce engaging content that has a clear, unified voice and that is targeted to your specific audience.  You will apply your knowledge of the public sector to source tenders that align to our offerings and will help the pursuit team manage the bid process with a focus on ensuring that the content received from contributors is crafted into a cohesive submission that clearly defines our offering and the messaging that is developed for the specific opportunity.

Ultimately, you will be capable of leading the activities to coordinate the development and presentation of the written technical and financial response required of an RFP for products and services (including professional and managed services) related to public/private cloud, networking, modern workplace, and security.

This role is hybrid with the expectation of being in the local office one time per week.

What you'll do:

  • Proposing the best approach for RFQ/RFP responses
  • In consultation with the internal team (Account Executives/Technical Pre-sales personnel), respond to technical questions in a manner that can be understood by a broad audience
  • Ensuring compliance on RFP responses
  • Manage all communication, internal and external, scheduling strategy and review sessions to ensure we meet bid deadlines
  • Manage the bid logistics, develop the schedule for the team and setting responsibilities and expectations for the bid
  • Building and fostering positive internal and external relationships
  • Actively engage with public sector bid sources (e.g. Biddingo, Canadabuys, MERX, SLED procurement portals) to locate future contract/tender opportunities
  • Create and manage RFP content database which includes executive summaries by technology/solution type, common questions and a reference database
  • Participate in win/loss reviews and debrief calls to understand how to improve our bid responses
  • Recommend bid management tools/processes to streamline and improve our effectiveness

What you'll bring to the table:

  • 3+ years of experience in developing compliant proposal responses
  • Deep knowledge in the technology industry
  • Demonstrated experience in translating technical requirements for review by non-technical personnel
  • A high-level of proficiency in MS Office, particularly MS Word
  • Ability to manage and lead pursuit team calls
  • Ability to clearly articulate in written format and proposal an Executive Summary and Solution description
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to keep track of a high volume of documents and emails.
  • Proficiency in searching online databases
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field
  • Bilingualism (French-English) is considered an asset
