Job Description:
Part Time Facility Security Coordinator
This is a permanent part time position in which you’ll help us keep our people, aircrafts, facilities and packages safe.
YOUR PURPOSE
The Facility Security Coordinator ensures regulatory compliance is maintained with all applicable laws and regulations in accordance with the Aviation Security legislation and UPS Local Operating Plan (LOP) standards. This position is also responsible for ensuring the daily operational quality of the facility’s screening process, overseeing chain of custody controls, maintaining documentation to prove compliance, and conducting self-assessments at the site.
Your general activities will include:
- Taking part in and verifying daily equipment inspections
- Screen packages and perform secondary searches
- Maintain daily checklists and end of day reports
- Ensure a smooth-running operation and meeting tight and critical deadlines
- Effective communication and collaboration between aviation security and local operations teams
- Safeguarding the air cargo network
- Escalating quality and process issues to ensure they are handled appropriately
- Monitoring general work areas
- Regular online and in person continuous training
- Become familiar with UPS Aviation Security Local Operating Plan (LOP)
- Perform monthly compliance audits

We are looking for someone who has:
- Professional interest in safety and security
- The ability to successfully pass security checks, e.g., background, criminal records which includes an extended 5-year background check
- Ability to lift up to 70lbs
- Good judgement, decision making and good communication skills
- Diligence and a keen eye for detail
- Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to multitask
- Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
