2. Purpose of Job:
- The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for maintaining quality-assurance processes, calibrations, inspecting products, recording measurements and communicating findings.
3. Principal Accountabilities:
- Measure machined parts on the CMM
- Complete Incoming Inspections for supplied parts and document appropriately
- Measure machined parts and Assemblies for FAI inspections and as otherwise required
- Calibrate, fix and maintain gauges and measuring equipment per the schedule
- Verify product conforms to customer requirements and assist in problem solving issues
- Create Narratives for Supplier Non-conformances
- Create / Update CMM Programs ensuring parts are accurately measured
- Problem solve CMM operational issues as needed
- Review design models and prints to create inspection plans
- Perform other duties as assigned
4. Health and Safety Responsibilities:
- All required PPE while in plant.
- Work safe & ergonomically by following JH&S policies.
- Report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents across the plant.
- Report accidents, near misses, injuries, or illnesses immediately to your supervisor.
- Be alert for hazards.
- Cooperate with others on matters relating to occupational safety and health
5. Knowledge, Skills and Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent / relevant experience.
- Manufacturing environment experience an asset, preferably in CNC Machining Setting
- CMM and gauges operation, CMM Programming knowledge an asset
- Ability to manually measure product by setting up and using a variety of measuring equipment including but not limited to bore gauges, calipers, dial indicators, height gauge, etc.
- Experience using SolidWorks or other CAD software
- Knowledge of general machining practices.
- Ability to multitask, self-starter, independent worker.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Strong learning desire & aptitude.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
