About The Role
Reporting to the Quality Control Lead on the project, the Quality Inspector is responsible for providing technical support to senior project staff (Project Managers, Superintendents, etc.) and conducting required quality inspections in accordance with the required codes of construction. This is a temporary position at IOL Kearl Supporting their Outage project.
As a Quality Inspector at Graham, you will:
- Ensure trades are certified to performthe scope of work assigned.
- Ensure the implementation and the regular updating of the Inspection and Test Plan(s)(ITP).
- Conduct site inspections as detailed in the ITP(s) and develop the ITPs for each project.
- Review Quality-related documents submitted by subcontractors.
- Request testing by independent testing agencies.
- Manage and trackthe Deficiency Management Process
- Issue or review all project Surveillance Reports (FSR) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCR).
- Conduct quality orientation of new certified trades on project site.
- Develop and ensure the Project Specific Quality Plan (PSQP) meets the requirements of the applicable QCM(s).
- Develop and ensure the Inspection and Test Plan(s) (ITP) meets the requirements of the applicable QCM(s).
- Identify quality inspection forms applicable to the project scope of work.
- Assist with development of Field Instruction Work Packages (FIWPs) and Test Packages (TPs).
- Review subcontractors’ ITP(s) for compliance with the codes of construction.
- Build effective relationships with clients, design team, subcontractors, and suppliers in accordance with Graham’s core values.
- Communicate professionally with clients and their representatives as required, and recognize the importance of building / maintaining effective business relationships.
- Demonstrate HSE and Quality behaviours that reflect corporate expectations of Actively Caring and Road to Zero.
- Take personal responsibility for own health and safety, and that of other workers, visitors to the site(s), the community and the environment.
- Promote the health, safety, and environmental protection of everyone on the project site.
- Know and comply with project specific HSE requirements.
- Participate in the HSE initiatives and LEI scorecards.
- Know and comply with client requirements, Graham’s Quality Management System, and all applicable government laws and regulations.
- Post-secondary education, trade certification, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a related field.
- Certification as required by Code of Construction or Client specifications.
- CWB Level 1, 2 or 3
- National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Certification considered an asset
- Combination of experience and technical qualifications required to execute specific jobs.
- Previous construction experience in a Quality role.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Solid presentation skills and verbal / written communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
