REACH TRUCK DRIVER/WAREHOUSE OPERATOR

Position Summary

Edgewell is currently looking to hire a Reach Truck Driver/Warehouse Operator on our Afternoon Shift. These are hourly positions ($25 to $28 per hour) based in our new Milton, ON Distribution Centre. Extensive benefit package including health, dental, vision care plus company pension plan is also offered. The role is responsible for operating warehouse and material handling equipment, and for following standard work processing for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping of various consumer packaged goods. Must be capable of working within a team environment, following regulatory guidelines, and supporting distribution operations to achieve monthly objectives.

Accountabilities

· Perform material handling activities including, picking, packing, sorting, repacking, shipping, and receiving.

· Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with health, safety, quality and environmental management systems as well as corporate and local policies, reporting unsafe conditions immediately.

· Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or using powered material handling equipment.

· Performs role in a manner that is reflective of Edgewell’s Core values.

· Executes the fulfillment of customer orders and requirements through use of warehouse management systems.

· Inspects, loads and unloads packaged products in a safe, efficient manner and confirms all appropriate regulatory documentation is in order; performs quality inspections where required.

· Inspects and verifies the satisfactory performance of all equipment and tools used in this area of operations, recommends changes where necessary and actively participates in keeping the work area clean, organized, and functional.

· Maintains a level of training and knowledge in accordance with the requirements of the position, such as GMP, forklift training, emergency response, TDG, WHMIS.

· Completes other tasks and special projects as assigned.

Skills & Experience

• Experience operating a forklift is necessary
• Experience operating a Deep Reach Forklift is a definite asset
• Must obtain the necessary internal licensing required by Edgewell and be comfortable working in a computerized environment.
• High School completed or equivalent experience with 2 years of experience in a warehouse environment.
• Must be flexible to work weekends and/or evenings.
• Must have the ability to sit or stand up to 10 hours per day.
• Experience working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to use computer and wireless technology.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and requirements, and acceptable quality standards.
• Solid organization skills with high level of initiative.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
• Reliable with a strong commitment to perform well within given timelines.
