Reporting to the Operations Supervisor the Forklift Operator is responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks using an RF scanner and various material handling equipment. Follows best practice processes to ensure we are efficient, accurate, and provide quality and on-time orders for our customers.
Responsibilities
- The material handler plays an important role in meeting customer agreements which include productivity, accuracy, and service level.
- Responsible for the handling of product for various operational processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control.
- This role requires the use of material handling equipment and RF technology.
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality and consistency is achieved.
- Completes material handling tasks as presented on the RF, scanning where possible to avoid manual keying.
- Participates in inventory activities including physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
- Moves empty pallets, depositing them at the designated pallet holding location.
- Keeps the warehouse clean, orderly, and free from obstructions, with all debris placed in proper containers or designated areas.
- Operates equipment and completes tasks in a manner consistent with company Health & Safety policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Some relevant warehouse experience
- Previous experience with RF based Warehouse Management System (WMS) or voice recognition system would be an asset.
- Knowledge of warehouse processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control.
- Be reliable and dependable, able to be at work every day, on time.
- Able to work in a fast-paced and task-oriented environment.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team and follow safe work practices.
- Some high school or completion of secondary school diploma
- Equipment training and certification is available in-house
- Able to commit to a flexible work schedule, including overtime and weekends when required.
- Works 100% of their time on the warehouse floor, walking, standing, and bending.
- Capable of lifting up to 50lbs repeatedly and safely.
