Job Description
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for receiving customer parts for processing, raw materials for the metal finishing processes, and supplies and equipment. This includes unloading the items, performing incoming inspections and completing the appropriate records. The Shipper/Receiver is also responsible for final preparations and the return shipment of orders to the customer. Arranging for transportation, where required, ensuring that shipping documentation is complete, and loading the items for transport is included in the shipping activities.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Ensure all visitors are signed in and escorted through the plant when required.
· Unload customer orders, raw material, supplies and equipment delivered to the plant.
· Verify receiving documents for materials received.
· Complete all required receiving documentation.
· Perform incoming inspection of materials received.
· Move the received materials to the appropriate storage area.
· Move customer orders to and from the production lines as requested.
· Prepare finished orders for shipment to customer.
· Ensure that all required inspections/testing has been signed off.
· Ensure that shipping documents are complete.
· Ensure that finished orders are secure and protected for transport.
· Arrange for transportation of finished orders as required.
· Load finished orders for transport.
· Perform equipment maintenance as required by maintenance schedule.
· Follow all processing and inspection instructions, and company procedures
· Complete all required shipping/receiving and inspection records.
· Follow all safety rules when handling chemicals and operating equipment and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
· Report all processing nonconformities, deficiencies, and problems to the Production Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance.
· Shut down shipping/receiving area at the end of the shift.
· May be required to perform other job functions as required.
Some heavy lifting is required.
Qualifications include:
· Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions. Must be detailed oriented.
· Customer service oriented.
· Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
· Ability to work with minimum supervision and to accept responsibility.
· Ability to work as a team member.
· Forklift experience (license required).
· Experience preferred.
