Job Summary:
The Recruitment Coordinator is responsible for initiating and maintaining connections with potential candidates, onboarding and integrating new family physicians (FPs) into communities, supporting physicians in their first five years in practice and physician retention and population health in the East Kootenays.
Organization Summary:
The Division of Family Practice is an innovation in health care in BC, designed to support and advocate for family physicians, increase primary health care capacity, and improve patient health outcomes. The Division is a non-profit society managed by an Executive Director and governed by a Board of Directors.
Qualifications:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 3 years+ experience in the health care field
- Strong knowledge of the BC health care system and issues
- Previous working experience as a Project Coordinator
- Experience working with not-for-profit organizations is an asset.
- Experience in evaluation and/or quality improvement
- Strong technical skills and competencies with Microsoft Suite and other online applications
- Experience with facilitation of stakeholder/public engagements
- Familiar with policy development and/or strategy development
- Reliable vehicle, valid BC driver’s license and ability to travel throughout EK region.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- The position will report to the Recruitment Lead and work with them to develop strategic recruitment and retention plans, as well as collaborate with other Interior Divisions to streamline regional processes
- Connect with potential candidates and direct enquiries appropriately
- Develop physician integration and retention road maps, tool kits, and processes
- Compile community integration services and resources that are available in the community
- Welcome and integrate new FPs into the community
- Connect new FPs and their families to the services and programs that are available in their community and coordinate and support new-to-practice physician groups.
- Facilitate collaboration and communication between FPs, the health care system and community partners
- Work in partnerships with local community groups and regional organizations to foster discussions and solutions around physician integration and retention.
- Attend local, regional, and Provincial level meetings as appropriate.
- Work collaboratively with clinics and clinic managers, Interior Health medical staff recruiters, and Division staff.
- Connect with local residents through clinic placements.
- Work closely with Interior Health Medical Staff Recruiters on HealthMatch Advertising.
- Assist with locum postings, onboarding of locums in clinics and keep a record of locums (locum calendar)
- Develop a manual for recruitment in our region (including tools and resources)
- Work with Divisions to identify potential clinics for the IMG and PRA programs.
- Understand payment models and help with contracts where necessary.
- Keep accurate records of recruitment-related data.
- Develop other tools and tactics to support recruitment and retention as needed or directed.
