Who is Altera Digital Health?

Altera Digital Health (Altera) provides digital software solutions and support to large hospitals and physicians across variety of geographies. Altera’s software is backend mission critical software used by our customers deliver the best possible healthcare to patients across the globe.

Altera was acquired by Harris Computers in May 2022 and is their largest acquisition to date. The Altera business consists of 11 core businesses spread across several legal entities in various geographies. The Altera finance team consists of 100+ team members and is truly an international operation with team members in India, Canada, USA, Israel, Australia, and more.

The Role

Join an a dynamic and ever evolving finance team, that is in the midst of a large financial integration. Oversee the transfer of financial results between two different accounting systems and assist with consolidating results for both external and internal reporting. Play a key role in developing new processes from the ground up and in driving process improvements to critical financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to manage the process of reconciling our various corporate accounting systems and assist/manage various process improvement initiatives.

• Transferring financial results into our parent company’s financial reporting system (Oracle to Great Plains transfer)
• Reconciling financial results for multiple legal entities across different geographies utilizing a variety of currencies
• Consolidating results for both external and internal financial reporting
• Producing external financial statements for lenders and reviewing bank covenants
• Preparing and reviewing quarterly financial statement note disclosures
• Assisting team members with reconciliations, variance examination and balancing intercompany transactions
• Managing and assisting with a variety of ad-hoc projects and tasks, centered on process improvement

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor of Commerce in accounting
• Preference given to candidates with a CPA designation.

Experience and Requirements

• 4 to 6 years’ accounting experience
• Proven desire to learn new processes and implement improvements.
• Problem solver, detail-oriented with proven data-based skills
• Advanced excel skills - experience working with logic functions, pivot tables and large data sets.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively.
• Experience working with multiple legal entities and transactions in foreign currencies is preferred.
• Experience working with Oracle, Hyperion, BPC or Microsoft Great Plains is an asset.
