Resident Aide To Upskill To Psw Through Psw Training Program

We are seeking kind, compassionate & reliable Resident Aides to join our exceptional team of caregivers. Dundas Manor is a 98 bed long-term care home in Winchester ON.

Resident Aides provide support to residents through ambulation, dining assistance, stocking linens & clothing, infection prevention & control cleaning and assistance to the PSW Team & Registered Staff Team.

This position is for Resident Aides who agree to Upskill to the Personal support worker (PSW) training Program through Humber College.

Here are some of the program's details:

• The course is completely free and fully funded by the MLTC.
• Students will be compensated at a set rate ($19.25/hr for 25 hrs + 30% per week) for the duration of the 22-week program.
• Students will participate in an online, accelerated-format 22-week program. 14 weeks of full-time, online, synchronous coursework and 8 weeks of on-site, experiential training through a clinical placement at their current home. This will allow the students to be able to stay and learn in their local community and place of employment after which they will obtain a full credential.
• After six (6) months, graduates will be ready to transition to the position of Personal Support Worker. Once graduated, PSW's will have a salary of $19.71-$22.95 per hour + a permanent $3/hour wage enhancement from the government.
