Principal Accountabilities:
- Perform daily operations of the facility safely, efficiently and profitably.
- Perform facility operations such as receiving and shipping of seed, fertilizer and chemical.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of seed and crop inputs products.
- Perform basic maintenance and operator care of equipment.
- Maintain inventory records, perform counts and investigate discrepancies.
- Provide excellent customer service and engage with team members.
- Coordinate operations, support sales and customer service activities.
- Administrate transactions for shipping, receiving and customer payments.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Agronomy team to execute on customer sales and product forecasting.
- Portray a professional image, both personally and throughout the location.
- Liaison with internal and external supplier contacts.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Understand and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Lead safety related activities for the facility: safety training, maintain regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, hold monthly safety meetings with staff to review procedures and safety awareness issues.
- Other duties as assigned under the direction of the Retail Manager and Plant Manger.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada.
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 50 lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written).
- Basic use of a computer.
- Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above).
- Must possess a valid Canadian Class 5 driver’s license in good standing authorizing you to drive independently during the course of your employment and be able to safely operate a 5 ton delivery van.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work overtime, weekends and holidays with advance notice.
