Retail Sales & Production Labourer

The Retail Sales & Production Labourer reporting to the Plant Supervisor, will be responsible for working directly with the safety, production, maintenance and quality departments in the areas of data entry, record keeping and reporting. You will be responsible for providing quotes with regards to metal roofing & siding to walk in customers. A strong knowledge or have a construction background would be an asset.

Job Description:

· Performing general office duties such as ordering supplies

· Maintaining records management database systems and retention

· Basic understanding of construction quotes for metal roofing & siding

· Providing quotes for retail customers

· Sending paperwork for received purchase orders to the accounts payable department for payment processing

· Receipt of incoming product transfers are submitted to Head office in a timely manner

· Ensure all receipts pertaining to trucking are to be scanned and submitted to Head Office daily

· Communicate in a prompt and professional manner with carriers and internal team members

· Tracking all consumable inventory

· Operate equipment to assist in the production process

· Maintain the warehouse’s equipment

· Wrapping, bending steel and preparing order for shipment

· Store products and material

· Assemble materials and equipment as required

· Meet deadlines of individual production tasks during shift

· Report on defective products or equipment

· Assist in the loading of raw materials to the production line

· Inspect finished products for defects to ensure quality standards are met

· Conduct inspections and quality control of products

· Check stock levels and report deficiencies in products or raw materials

· Keep the worksite clean to avoid hazards

· Review and follow manufacturing manuals

· Transfer equipment manually or with forklift trucks

· Follow the company’s safety and quality guidelines

Qualifications:

· Exceptional communication skills both oral and written in English

· Construction industry experience an asset

· Knowledge of office management systems and procedures

· Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

· Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

· A professional demeanor and attitude

· Prior experience in a production setting preferred

· Understand basic fraction calculations and read a tape measure

· Experience with general power tools, skill saw, circular saw

· Good understanding of how production equipment works

· Knowledge of basic safety rules and precautionary measures

· Ability to lift heavy loads up to and including 50 lbs

· Clean driver’s abstract, Class 5 license, forklift ticket

· Feels at ease in a constantly evolving environment

· Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
