Job description

We are currently recruiting for a Sales and Marketing Managerfocused on the Western Canadian market.We expect the candidate to provide technical and ethical representation and strong leadership, focusing on team development and establishing long term relationships. The candidate will be tasked with managing an annual Marketing Plan, and both coaching and growing the sales teams. It is important to establish brand recognition and the trust of regional partners and customers. It will be important to be seen as a local expert on the industry and Delco Water’s products and services, creating a strong base to launch projects and revenue creation. The position will be supported from our Saskatoon, SK, Calgary, AB, and Winnipeg, MB offices for technical and field service support. The position has uncapped potential.

Responsibilities

  • Develop Market Analysis based on current Delco Water offerings and industry needs. Find opportunity for growth and expansion.
  • Oversee the annual Marketing Plan – this will include strategy for presenting and attendance at trade shows and conferences, website development, social media, customer events and other marketing deliverables.
  • Identify new opportunities and products based on current market trends.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to the sales team, looking at potential, priorities, and execution of sales activities.
  • Attend trades shows and conferences as required.
  • Establish relationships with end users, engineering consultants, installation contractors, and other groups to be a trusted water and wastewater treatment advisor.
  • Create and deliver presentations or educational material to stakeholders as required to make sure they are aware of pros, cons, and risks.
  • Develop and recommend pricing strategy for the organization which will result in the greatest share of the market over the long run.
  • Track and communicate activity with all tendering authorities including owners, engineers, and contractors to assess upcoming projects.
  • Assist sales staff with the compilation of technical proposals.
  • Direct company participation in all associations having a direct impact on business development (contractor and trade associations, engineering associations, Water and Wastewater associations, etc.).
  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors.
  • Recommend changes in basic structure and organization of marketing group to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to marketing problems and opportunities.
  • This position may have significant travel requirements for client meetings and other tradeshows or conferences. Travel location and frequency to be determined based on what is driving revenue and growth.

Requirements

  • 3+ years experience managing a sales team.
  • Preference will be given to candidate with a degree in Engineering, Commerce/Business, or other related fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; fluency in English is essential.
  • Must possess a valid Canadian Driver’s License.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in Canada on full-time basis.

Desired

  • Water and wastewater treatment system sales, design, or operation experience.
  • Water or wastewater treatment plan automation sales, design, or operation experience.
  • History of technical solution sales to end users and engineer.
  • Must have the enthusiasm to get Delco Water in the door where we haven’t been before.
  • Proficient in coaching and fostering skill development among team members.
  • Ability to work successfully independently and coordinating team environments.
  • Adheres to a strong work ethic characterized by transparent communication and consistent follow-through.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Quick learner; able to adapt to new technologies rapidly.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize tasks, and thrive under pressure to meet established deadlines.
  • Highly self-motivated with a commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Places a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional client service.
