We are searching for an experienced Kitchen Assistant/Cook to work in our kitchen on Colonnade Road in Nepean.
Responsibilities
- Prepare sandwiches, salads and some basic cooking, using standardized recipes
- Slice, chop and prepare ingredients such as meat, cheese, vegetables and condiments
- Package sandwiches, salads and menu items according to our customer orders
- Ensure food quality and freshness
- Communicate effectively with kitchen & bakery teams
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to food safety guidelines
- Be able to use labelling system - training provided
- Keep inventory of sandwich supplies, and notify supervisor when items need to be ordered
- Organize, tidy & put away sandwich & salad ingredients
Requirements
- Experience making sandwiches and salads working in a large kitchen
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating portion sizes
- Experience using small kitchen appliances, food processor, mixers, stove and oven
- Ability to take direction and work independently
- Ability to follow a schedule and work efficiently, with the ability to take on additional tasks as requested
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks
- Be able to arrive for a 6am start
Hours
- Monday – Friday
- 6am-2pm (generally)
- Statutory Holidays off
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $16.55-$22.69 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
