Security Lead

Reporting to the Security Supervisor , you will be part of the Health and Safety Department. The Security Lead is responsible for following all Company and legislated procedures, policies, and regulations pertaining to safety and personal conduct. The Security Lead is responsible for overseeing daily activities of scheduled personnel within the security team, including prioritization of responsibilities, assignment of tasks, etc. The Security Lead monitors and protects the property, personnel, and interests of Agnico Eagle against criminal activity, loss, and liability. The Security Lead controls access to Agnico Eagle owned and operated properties, and are tasked with responding to a variety of emergency situations. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

• Participate in weekly and monthly reporting requirements;
• Processing Purchase requisitions in SAP system;
• Participate in site investigations as required;
• Provide support to Security Supervisor where needed;
• Participate weekly Safety meetings;
• Controls access to establishments using access control technology and operates security control room equipment. Conducts patrols of assigned areas to guard against theft, vandalism, fire, and trespassing;
• Ensures all of Agnico Eagle’s safety rules, regulations, and policies are being followed by all personnel;
• Completes reports by recording observations, completing incident reports, conducting interviews, and investigations as directed;
• Inspects and adjust Security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and detect evidence of tampering;
• Issues passes to, and direct visitors as required. Conduct of Security screening of all personnel and vehicles as required;
• Control and monitoring of CCTV systems;
• Provide input/feedback for opportunities for improvement/initiatives for Security;
• Participate in evaluation and implementation of project as required;
• Maintain confidentiality with sensitive matters;
• Other duties as assigned by supervision as operations require.

• Minimum High School Diploma / Equivalency is required;
• Valid Ontario Security Guard License is required;
• Valid G Class Ontario Drivers License with clear driver’s abstract is required;
• Standard First Aid / CPR is required;
• Good spoken and written communication skills are required;
• Moderate competency with Microsoft Office and computers required;
• Ability to / experience working under pressure;
• 2-4 years Security experience on an active mine site;
• Supervisor common core and Train the trainer certification is an asset;
• Bilingualism (French / English) is an asset;
• Past experience leading a team an asset;
• Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

• Schedule: 7/7 schedule at our Macassa Mine in Kirkland Lake, ON.
