THE ROLE
We are partnering with a reputable, dynamic, and diverse Canadian law firm located in Vancouver, BC. Currently, they are looking for a Senior Accountant to be part of their robust 10-person Accounting team. Please note this is a 15-month maternity leave contract position and it is fully in office.
This position will be reporting to the Controller. The successful candidate must possess strong, full-cycle accounting skills as they will be involved in all aspects of the departmental operations. In addition, the Senior Accountant must have sound analytical and technical skills, including advanced Excel skills. Experience in Elite 3E and SQL would be ideal.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements
• Preparing ad hoc reports and analyses, including cost and revenue analyses
• Assisting with all budget and forecasting requirements
• Researching and providing recommendations on accounting and compliance issues
• Providing cross-training and support for all accounting functions
• Assisting with the maintenance of accounting dashboards and internal report requirements
• Leveraging existing accounting software to enhance reporting metrics
• Completing ad hoc projects as requested by management
QUALIFICATIONS
• University undergraduate diploma or degree in a related field (business or accounting preferred)
• Enrolled in the Chartered Professional Accounting program would be ideal
• Professional manner with capacity to maintain high level of confidentiality
• Advanced computer skills with Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience with Elite 3E or similar ERP software and SQL - preferable
• Excellent communication skills and a focus on exceptional client service;
• Experience in a professional services environment is considered a strong asset.
