Job description

As we continue to grow, Bucketlist is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our finance team. As a key player in our financial ecosystem, this role offers a unique chance to contribute to the financial success of our dynamic organization. As our Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for producing detailed financial reports for management, overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes, conducting variance analysis, and utilizing Power BI to create interactive dashboards. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting & General Ledger:

  • Generate financial reports for management to aid in decision-making processes.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.

Month-End and Year-End Close:

  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for significant fluctuations.

Data Visualization (Power BI):

  • Design and develop interactive and insightful dashboards and reports using Power BI.

Marketplace Treasury Management:

  • Oversee and manage financial transactions related to the company's marketplace activities, including funds flow, disbursements, and reconciliation.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Manage and oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring accurate and timely recording of customer invoices and receipts.

Audit & Compliance Support:

  • Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors with the completion of the annual audit and tax returns.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the finance department.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial information.


Required Skills for Success:

  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Experience in Power BI (or a similar data visualization tool) is considered an asset
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online) and Microsoft Excel
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Compensation: Anticipated Salary Range for this role is $70,000 to $85,000 CAD. The final offer will consider factors such as your expertise and previous experience.
